Alcohol And Cigarette Smoke Allergy And Asthma worsen

Consumption of alcoholic beverages and cigarette smoke was found to aggravate people with asthma and seasonal allergies, experts claim.

The experts who commented at the annual meeting of The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) explains that alcohol and cigarette smoke can aggravate asthma and allergic conditions.

"Although rare, allergic to alcohol can cause symptoms such as red, itchy eyes, nasal congestion, abdominal pain and difficulty breathing," said Dr. Sami Bahna, ACAAI members who heads the department of allergy and immunology at Louisiana State University school of medicine.

Allergic reaction to alcohol is quite mild, but when it is about people with asthma risk to switch to death, clearly Bahna again.

Natural ingredients in beer or wine like barley, ethanol, hops, malt, yeast, wheat was able to trigger the immune system reaction.

Even sulfite compounds and chemicals tyramines, which contained wine, could bring more bad allergies, cause headaches and worsen asthma symptoms.

"People sometimes do not realize, and feel calm just because they had no specific allergic to alcohol, but exactly when in the body of existing talent allergies especially food allergies, alcohol is potentially made it worse" said Bahna.

While cigarette smoke has a way of working together to exacerbate asthma and allergic conditions of a person. "This is because cigarette smoke increases the sensitivity of people towards a natural substance air. People with allergies and asthma should be cautious and avoid exposure to smoke" lid Bahna.
