Predicts the success of Early Child

A study of 877 thousand teenagers Sweden compared the results of their school exams with Apgar scores after they were born.

The result, the researchers found an association between Apgar score below seven and lower intelligence later in life.

Apgar is a test the soundness of the newborn on a scale of one to ten, and how much medical attention to the needs of children. The study is the largest study ever conducted looking at the relationship between cognitive ability in adolescents and the Apgar test.

Based on test results, parents can expect closer to the initial problem in order to help address the needs of children as they grow older. Apgar test is given between one and five minutes after birth.

Andrea Stuart, a gynecologist at the Hospital Center in Helsingborg, Sweden said, low Apgar scores could find a child's weaknesses. These include shortness of breath, premature birth, maternal drug use, infection. It may have an impact on brain function in the future.

Apgar test can also evaluate the baby's heart rate, respiration, muscle tone, skin tone and reflexes (sneezing or coughing) on a scale of one to ten. Scores of eight and above are considered signs of good health. Virginia Apgar test was developed in 1952. This method is simple and effective in testing since the baby's health. (AIS)
