Turmeric, Herbs efficacious Cancer Busters

Turmeric is one of the spices that are familiar in a variety of traditional dishes such as curry. Besides as a flavoring and preservative foods, there are other benefits of this yellow spice intake for health, that suppress cancer growth.

Studies from the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center found that curcumin, the main compound in turmeric, was able to suppress cancer cell signaling pathways, thereby reducing the growth of cancer cells in the neck and head.

Inhibition of cell signaling pathways are also correlated with a reduced number of cytokines that cause inflammation and affect the growth of cancer.

Dr. Marilene Wang, senior author of the study said, "Curcumin works in the mouths of patients with cancer in the head and neck and reduce cancer growth," Wang said as written the Times of India.

"Not only inhibits cancer cell signaling pathways in saliva, curcumin also reduces the causes of inflammatory cytokines,"
