After conducting research for 25 years, Cuba began producing a vaccine for lung cancer with CimaVax name-EGF. CimaVax-EGF is not a vaccine for prevention, but to treat existing cancers attacks in patients.
The vaccine is working with its active ingredient which is based on 'being owned by a human protein when the cancer is out of control'.
The vaccine is claimed to have been tested on 1,000 patients in Cuba, but it is difficult to verify. Gisela Gonzalez, head researcher, said he was optimistic about the future of this drug.
"These drugs can alter the cancer so that more can be controlled by generating antibodies against proteins that trigger uncontrolled cell proliferation," said Gobzales told Chinese news agency Xinhuanet reported that like Huffingtonpost, Thursday (9/8/2011).
"It is impossible indeed to prevent the emergence of the disease, but this vaccine significantly improve the health of critically ill patients," he continued.
Cuba is a socialist state is very concerned about the health of its citizens. Cubans can be treated for free and receive good treatment from his doctors that champions. Cheap and berkualitasnya treatment in Cuba have also made a lot of people from neighboring countries seeking treatment there.
Besides Cuba, the U.S. is also currently being tested a vaccine for more than 14 types of cancer and only produces two types of preventive vaccines. Despite medical advances are difficult to be confirmed 100 percent, but there has been a significant step forward in cancer research in the last month. One of the new treatment has been found to eradicate leukemia thoroughly. The next step is to test it on various types of cancer, which can include other types of tumors.
Drug called Xalkori also approved earlier this month in the United States for treating forms of lung cancer in a group of patients with a deadly choice. This idea is in line with the personal treatment. Currently, lung cancer is the most deadly cancer in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were 158,683 deaths from cancer during 2007.
