Every Year Appeared 12 Million New Cancer Cases in the World

The number of patients diagnosed with cancer in the world is increasing. Even the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) said that every year there are 12 million new cancer cases.

A spokesman from the WCRF says about 7 million of 12 million new cancer cases are diagnosed each year in developing countries, and these numbers are expected to rise drastically.

Globally, the number has increased by a fifth in less than a decade (10 years) last. This of course will be the biggest challenge in health, along with improving other chronic diseases such as heart, lungs and diabetes.

"This condition can be prevented by taking action now, not just disaster and hunger to be reckoned with but also the cost of cancer care is increasing," said Kate Allen, director of science and communication, as quoted by Reuters on Thursday (8 / 9 / 2011).

Meanwhile, Martin Wiseman, WCRF adviser as medical and scientific field tells the real problem instead of finding new solutions, but getting people to implement solutions that already exist and are known.

Experts said one of the ways you can do is to make healthy lifestyle and eating right. Although it sounds trivial, but if these two things done then it could prevent 2.8 million cases of cancer each year.

In this case about a third of all common types of cancer can be prevented by limiting alcohol intake, improving diet, stopping smoking and increasing physical activity even if the numbers are small.

"People still do not realize that these things can affect cancer risk, while there are ads that encourage someone to make bad lifestyle and millions of people worldwide at risk," says Martin Wiseman.
