Two groups of scientists were doing experiments on 100 samples of healthy colon tissue and who have contracted cancer.

"Clearly these bacteria are similar, still we are still expecting specific results in this study" said Sarah Williams, other scientists from Cancer Research UK, commented on the study results.

Colorectal cancer occupies the third place of the most common cancer in the UK after breast and lung. Although the exact cause is unknown, there are several factors that increase risk, such as family history, lifestyle and age.
