Drinking Less Prone to Diabetes

The habit of drinking two liters of water a day, it seems difficult to apply in everyday life. Many people are still reluctant and prefer a colored drink than water. In fact, a study showed that people who drink two liters less prone to diabetes.

People who drank less than half a liter of water a day, will further develop diabetes than those who drank more than two liters of water per day. Researchers from the French national research institute INSERM, found an association between water with blood sugar in the body. "The findings suggest a correlation between water intake and blood sugar".

According to researchers, a hormone called vasopressin, also known as antidiuretic hormone will help water retention in the body. When the body is dehydrated, vasopressin levels rise and cause the kidneys to conserve water. But the researchers also found that vasopressin is too high can also increase blood sugar.

This fact is based on the 3615 French adults aged between 30 and 65 who have normal blood sugar levels at the beginning of research. Approximately 19 percent said they drank less than half a liter (17 ounces) of water every day, while the rest drank up to one liter or more. The result, after nine years, a total of 565 participants experienced the development of abnormal blood sugar, blood sugar and 202 people were developing normally.

Hence, "healthy behaviors associated with higher drinking water," suggested the researchers
